Environmental Management System

Through the environmental management system, Daejoo Electronic Materials prevents negative environmental impacts and promotes activities for the local community's environmental impact management and environmental performance improvement. Our SHE group manages environmental management activities based on the system, with material environmental issues deliberated on and approved by the ESG Committee. By establishing a system for regular environmental monitoring, we systematically manage the key environmental data of the headquarters and the Battery Campus. In addition, we conduct internal and external verifications on the management system once a year and environmental impact assessment once every three years.

Daejoo Electronic Materials’ Strategy and ESG Team established a reporting plan so that the ESG Committee can review and deliberate on material issues concerning climate change, environmental impact on the local community, etc. on a yearly basis.
Our Environment Team, Health and Safety Team, and each manufacturing group conducting working-level activities for environmental management collect and analyze environmental data. The SHE Group combines and monitors data from each division and reports the data to the ESG Committee and the CEO as the final decision makers. Key environmental issues and activities are reviewed under the responsibility of the head of the SHE Group. For these issues and activities, the CEO and ESG Committee are responsible for the final decision making.

Environmental Management Policy and Goals

Daejoo Electronic Materials established the environmental policy to achieve sustainable development through the participation of all employees. We will conduct activities for environmental improvement including complying with the law and regulations, and establishing and regularly re-examining the environmental management goals.
We promote the standardization of documents for environmental and safety operation procedures according to the ISO 14001 standards and have them reflected to our operations. In addition, we strive to lead environmental management on an ongoing basis by establishing quality and SHE goals and policies and sharing the detailed goals for 2024 with our employees.

Daejoo Electronic Materials established mid- to long-term strategies to control strictly the environmental impacts throughout the management activities and improve environmental performances continuously. Based on the strategy roadmap, we derive detailed tasks and strive to fulfill our short-, mid-, and long-term goals. In doing so, we will further strengthen our environmental management competency and upgrade our company-wide environmental management system.

Risk Management

Compliance with Environmental Laws and Regulations

Daejoo Electronic Materials systematically manages environmental management risks by continuously inspecting the status of compliance with environmental law and regulations. While responding immediately to changes in environment-related statutes, we have established a system for the swift reporting of issues to the head of the SHE Group to keep risk occurrence to a minimum.

Environmental Training of Employees

Daejoo Electronic Materials provides environmental training to all employees of the headquarters and Battery Campus in order to prevent various environmental accidents and violations of environmental law and regulations that occur in worksites. In particular, we organized a training program to seek preventive measures by studying cases of environmental regulatory violations in addition to those for safe maintenance and repair of machinery, instruments, and facilities. The training focuses on key risk factors and their handling actions, key health and safety operation methods, accident cases and preventive measures, legal training based on actual cases of environmental law violation, and preventive actions that can be applied to the field. Encouraging the participation of persons in charge from various divisions, we provided the last training in December 2023.
